Advantages of Electronic Lock Technology

Electronic locks use electronic keycard to replace the metallic key. Each keycard has a unique identify number when it is issued. This identify number is never repeated. When a keycard is lost, a new keycard will be issued to replace the lost and the lost keycard will be expired.
The electronic lock is able to identify the type of the keycard, and determine which keycard can open the lock. For example, the guests keycard can only open his/her room for certain days. the hotel managers keycard can open all rooms at any time, the housekeepers keycard can only open rooms which whey will in at working hours.
Another important feature is that the lock keeps a recorder of who has entered the room. In case of that guest claim they lost their property in the hotel room, the hotel manager can find who has entered the room in past time.

A Close Look of How ADEL Electronic Lock Work
|
This is how ADEL IC lock work when opeing the door. All other ADEL hotel locks work in the similar way.
- Step 1, Waiting for a card to be inserted once the lock is setup properly.
- Step 2, Reading the card. The lock read it immediately upon the card being inserted.
- Step 3, Telling you if the card is working or not. The lock beeps once shortly and the Green light turns on if the card is correct. The lock beeps longer and the Red light turns on shortly if the card is wrong or upside-down. These are simple and clear signals for most people to realize whether he or she can open the door.
- Step 4, Forcing you to remove the card. You must remove the card from the lock otherwise you can not open the door. This feature prevents the guests from leaving the card on the lock.
- Step 5, Allowing to open the door. Now you can turn the door handle to open the door.
- Step 6, Locking the door immediately.
- Step 7, Warning on door not closing. The lock blinks the Green light for 10 second and beeps once at the end to remind you to close the door.
- Step 8, Warning on door not locking up. The lock will beep and the Red light will turn on continuously if the door is closed but not locked.
- Step 9, Waiting for reading the card again.

Most popular card C Magnetic keycard
Magnetic keycard is the most popular card for electronic locks. It is inexpensive and can be used as single-use card. But, the c ards can not hold much data on it, are relatively easy to duplicate or counterfeit; and cards with low coercivity are easily damaged (stripe demagnetized).

High security card C IC card
IC card, which an Integrated Circuit (IC) chip is embedded in a plastic card, has much higher security than magnetic card because the IC card can not be copied if you dont have the security code for that card. The IC card is also called smart card since it has much more functions than magnetic card. IC card is also more reliable and durable than magnetic card.

Most convenience card C RF card
RF card is IC based card. It has all IC cards functions but the card does not have contact with reader. It communicate with the card reader through Radio Frequency. The RF card is also called contactless card or proximity card. There are two of the RF card: Mifare and Temic. These two different industrial standards but working in the same principle.
RF card is easier to use than IC card. And since it does not have contact with the card reader, there is no wearing at all, all its life is very long. The price of RF is higher than other keycard.

The strongest card C TM card
TM card (Touch Memory card) is an IC based card. The IC chip is sealed in a 16mm stainless steel can which is called iButton. It can be attached to a key fob, ring, watch, or other personal items. The IC in iButton is protected by the ultimate durable material: stainless steel. You can drop it, step on it, or scratch it. The iButton is wear-tested for 10-year durability. The iButton is thicker, and the TM card is not as thin as the IC card or RF card.
